Hal Leonard Europe headlines at London’s Music & Drama Education Expo

London, UK, March 4-5, 2020 – Hal Leonard Europe authors and products will be taking centre stage at this year’s Music & Drama Education Expo, held at Olympia London. Reinforcing the company’s commitment to education and lifelong music-making, Hal Leonard Europe will be featured throughout the two days in a range of exciting and informative workshops at Europe’s largest exhibition for music and drama educators.

Amongst the most compelling events of the Expo will be a series of interactive singing sessions and talks led by broadcaster and choirmaster Gareth Malone, whose latest publication Bright Star, published by Hal Leonard, presents an exciting collection of songs designed to inspire and invigorate singing in schools. Malone will be opening the Expo on 4 March in style, directing a morning warm-up session for attendees followed by a series of talks throughout the day with co-author Catherine de Sybel on Bright Star and the role of singing in improving the educational experience of all children.

Hal Leonard Europe author Samantha Coates will also feature. The best-selling creator of the Blitz! book series on music theory, sight-reading and musicianship will be launching her UK tour at the Expo by challenging educators to look at their labelling of children as ‘Gifted and Talented’, before heading to Manchester and Edinburgh.

In addition, Ollie Tunmer, the renowned musician and educator, will be celebrating the launch of his book Body Beats with a series of dynamic workshops, demonstrating how the art of Body Percussion can ignite schools and communities into electric acts of music-making. Marking the first year of Hal Leonard Europe’s distribution deals with Vamoosh and Kevin Mayhew, Expo attendees on both days will be treated to a collection of engaging sessions on the application of ground-breaking instrumental methods. The latest in technology will also be on show, with ROLI’s LUMI keyboard and app, distributed by Hal Leonard Europe, illuminating proceedings with its state-of-the-art approach to learning music.

‘Music Education is at the very heart of the Hal Leonard catalogue. From instrumental methods and classroom resources to cutting-edge software and gear, music learning drives what we do. We are very excited to support the Music & Drama Education Expo with a superb programme of content and look forward to engaging with teachers this week.’
