YouTube ukulele star Elise Ecklund has embarked on her first ever European tour of music stores, performing songs and meeting fans in the UK, France, the Netherlands and Italy. Elise showcased her signature Flight ukuleles and Hal Leonard songbook before taking time to chat and take photos with the audience. Organised by Hal Leonard Europe in partnership with Elise and Flight, places to attend each show were snapped up within hours of bring announced: online influence bringing customers into high street stores.
‘The tour has been absolutely amazing so far! I have gotten to meet so many incredible people who support me, and they are all so lovely! I’m also super excited that I have gotten to visit cities that have been on my bucket list forever!’Elise Ecklund
A spokesperson for Flight commented ‘This is the first time ever that a ukulele brand has organised a tour for a YouTuber on such a scale, so we really didn’t know what to expect. We were extremely pleased with the turnout; a lot of young kids came to meet Elise, brought her gifts and got their ukes and uke songbooks signed. At a time when a lot of people say that it is difficult to get kids into music, we feel like we are on a very important mission to inspire the next generation to pick up the versatile and exciting ukulele.’
‘We’re delighted to have had the opportunity to partner with Flight ukuleles for this tour, and to work with such an inspiring musician and communicator in Elise Ecklund. At Hal Leonard, our goal is to enable lifelong music making for everyone, and both Elise and Flight are at the forefront of this in the way they connect with the next generation of musicians and music lovers through social media. We look forward to lots more opportunities for similar retailer events in future, and continuing to encourage new customers into music stores.’Tom Venvell, Sales Director, Hal Leonard Europe
